The Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) has released a list of recognized universities offering Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree programs in the country. The list is also published in daily newspapers for the guidance of students and parents.

The PVMC has announced that some government and private universities are offering non-recognized DVM programs. Students who complete their degree from a non-recognized institution will not be able to get themselves registered with the veterinary council. The degrees of such students will not be recognized and they will not be able to get a job as a veterinary doctor in any of the public or private sector organizations.

The PVMC has also issued a list of universities offering recognized postgraduate veterinary and animal sciences programs. The list of recognized universities is also available on the veterinary council’s website, www.pvmc.gov.pk. Students are advised to confirm the status of the institution they are applying to before enrolling, in order to save time and money.
