Paper Pattern for Matric and Inter Exams changed

Body:

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has decided to change the paper pattern for the 9th, 10th, 1st-year, and 2nd-year exams. The new pattern will include 25% analytical and conceptual questions. This change is intended to improve the quality of education in Punjab by encouraging students to think critically and solve problems.

The PBCC made the decision in a meeting held on June 15, 2023. The meeting also decided to adopt the syndicate marking system for the 2023 annual exams. The syndicate marking system is a more objective way of marking exams, and it is hoped that it will reduce the chances of bias.

The PBCC has also instructed all BISES in Punjab to arrange meetings with paper setters and to propose ten model papers of each subject. These model papers will be disseminated to class-level teachers so that both teachers and students can be aware of the changes to the paper pattern.

Conclusion:

The changes to the paper pattern for matric and inter exams are a positive step towards improving the quality of education in Punjab. The inclusion of analytical and conceptual questions will encourage students to think critically and solve problems. The syndicate marking system will also help to reduce bias in the marking process.
