Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons Approves Replacement of Intermediate Textbooks with Internationally Standards

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons, in its meeting held on July 11, 2023, unanimously resolved that the Punjab Text Book Board should replace all textbooks for intermediate level as per international standards for five subjects: mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and computer sciences. This decision was made in order to elevate the education standards of our candidates and allow them to cope with international learning practices.

The committee also noted that the Punjab Boards of Education had already adopted an international standard textbook of biology for intermediate students titled “An Inquiry into Biological Life” in 1972. Therefore, the committee felt that the adoption of international standard textbooks would be a revival of previous good practice.

The committee has requested the Punjab Text Book Board to immediately begin working on the adoption of international standard textbooks, as well as the negations of copyrights and the printing process, in order to make these books available to students as soon as possible.

کمیٹی نے یہ بھی نوٹ کیا کہ پنجاب بورڈز آف ایجوکیشن نے پہلے ہی 1972 میں “حیاتیاتی زندگی کی ایک تفتیش” کے عنوان سے انٹرمیڈیٹ کے طلباء کے لیے ایک بین الاقوامی معیار کی حیاتیات کی نصابی کتاب اپنائی تھی۔ اس لیے کمیٹی نے محسوس کیا کہ بین الاقوامی معیار کی نصابی کتب کو اپنانا پچھلے اچھے طریقے کی تجدید ہوگی۔

کمیٹی نے پنجاب ٹیکسٹ بک بورڈ سے فوری طور پر بین الاقوامی معیار کی نصابی کتب کو اپنانے پر کام شروع کرنے کی درخواست کی ہے، ساتھ ہی کاپی رائٹس کی منسوخی اور پرنٹنگ کے عمل کے لیے، تاکہ یہ کتابیں طلباء کے لیے جلد از جلد دستیاب ہو سکیں۔
