Distribution Strategy and Selection Criteria
The PMYLS Phase-III employs a transparent and merit-based distribution strategy. The selection process involves the following steps:
- Online Application: Students apply online through the HEC portal before the deadline.
- Verification Process: The Focal Person of each relevant department verifies the student’s data, including their name, CNIC, department, degree level, and academic performance.
- Discrepancy Resolution: If any discrepancies are found, the focal person amends the data within the given timeline.
- Merit List Generation: HEC generates provisional merit lists based on eligibility and merit criteria for each university.
- Cross-Checking and Final Merit List: Institutes verify the provisional merit lists within 15 days, after which HEC shares the final merit list.
- Distribution and Public Display: Each institute displays the final merit list on notice boards, websites, or social media, while an online portal provides access to the merit status for all students and the general public.
Distribution Criteria
Laptops will be distributed purely on merit basis in each degree program, including PhD, MS/M.Phil., and
16 years of education. The distribution criteria are as follows:
- Merit Basis: Laptops will be distributed based on merit within each degree program.
- Quotas: Quotas will be determined based on university enrollment, including university quota, campus quota, degree program quota, department quota, and year-wise distribution.
- Balochistan Quota: As per directives from the PM office, 14% (14,000 laptops) will be allocated to Balochistan HEIs, accommodating students from accredited universities in Balochistan.
- Remaining Allocation: The remaining 86,000 laptops will be distributed among public sector HEIs nationwide in accordance with their enrollment preferences.
